Jana Sonja Altrock-N“Cho is currently working as an adviser for the Mission of Nauru as part of her legal trainee program of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne. Prior to joining Islands First and the Mission of Nauru she worked as a junior lawyer in the field of German asylum and immigration law in Frankfurt am Main, with a focus on human rights violations in Azerbaidjan (Nagorny-Karabach) and Turkey.
During her law studies at the Universities of Bonn and Lille, she focussed on European law, humanitarian law and human rights, and was the Secretary General of the European Law Students“ Association (ELSA) Bonn. Jana Sonja also holds the position of volunteer area coordinator for the German section of Amnesty International, acting as a spokeswoman concerning human rights abuses in the Republic of Chad with a concentration on environmental issues and their impact on the human rights situation.Jana Sonja Altrock-N'Cho
